The Sustainable Style Challenge for Luméra Magazine with Georgia Gibbs

For this shoot we did a sustainable style challenge where we dove into Georgia’s wardrobe to find her favorite sustainable and rising brands. She told us how she would put the schedule for drops from Havre Studio, a rising brand in her calendar and I can see why. There are some great unisex / Men’s shirts too that I’m very excited to be able to shop! Maybe more of a men’s line in the future!?

With an intimate-sized crew and creative freedom, I went into the studio to photograph a 10 page fashion story with entrepreneur and inspiring fashion star, Pritika Swarup for Modern Luxury. ATHENA WILSON for L'OFFICIEL MONTE CARLO by ANDREW DAY

This past Fall in 2020, I photographed ATHENA WILSON for L’Officiel Monte Carlo wearing Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren. We were operating with a passionate team under COVID guidelines. I thought Athena had a great smile and a big personality, so it was meaningful for me to use the equipment as set elements for a hint of “movie glamour” that I though embraced her charm.

I photographed Ashika Pratt for the inaugural launch of Seema Magazine at my studio in downtown Manhattan.

“Growing up, I had a complicated relationship with my identity,” she says. “I look Indian, but when I open my mouth I have a kiwi accent.”

DASHAUN WESLEY for OUT Magazine

Andrew Day photographs HBO’s ‘Legendary’ host Dashaun Wesley, known as the blueprint for Voguing today.

“I was introduced to Dashaun by a DJ that was playing one of his Vogue Balls back in 2012. I invited him into my studio for portraits, but schedule’s never lined up. By chance, I ran into him and a group of friends and stayed in touch but still didn’t get a chance to get together for another year! Patience is a virtue, I guess.

To me, it’s clear that Dashaun understands better than anyone else, who he is and what he’s doing. I respond strongly to people like Dashaun that are passionate, with a vision. I’m continually amazed at what he keeps coming up with next.”
